Our children carry the past, present, and future with them. Our opportunity is to equip and prepare them to succeed, grow, question, and even excel in their valiant journeys along the way. Our hope is that they finish what we started, grow past where we got stuck, and achieve what we hadn’t or couldn’t even have dreamt of.
My long term vision for St. Paul Public Schools is for us to have a district that as the second largest district in the state is a model for others. That our staff is deeply dedicated, highly trained, valued, and equitably compensated. That the students of our city, diverse with many different cultures, languages, and all other representations, are equipped to be the best representatives, leaders, law makers, trail blazers, story tellers, historians and visionaries for St. Paul. That we continue to invest in our students and families and the quality of our public education system. That the families, faculty, and community members that are a part of the public education experience are valued, respected, and included.
I will be working to make sure our students are getting a quality education and graduating with key literacies from financial to civic and social while exploring wealth justice, promoting critical thinking skills and practice, addressing school culture and safety and investing in Early learning.
